So how important is your spine? Your spinal cord runs through it. All of your spinal nerves come off of your spinal cord. These spinal nerves go to all parts of your body. Your brain communicates with all parts of your body through the spinal cord and the spinal nerves. Sounds important wouldn’t you say? Have you ever heard of someone having a spinal cord injury? Aren’t these typically considered severe injuries? Wouldn’t that tend to be an injury you would pray to never have? So if spinal cord injuries rank as one of the most severe injuries one could ever have then the spinal cord must be very important ya think? I would agree. So why is it that taking care of the spine which protects the spinal cord through chiropractic care would seem strange? Why would maintaining a properly balanced and well moving spinal column not be someone’s main concern when it comes to their health and the health of their family and children through chiropractic care in Alpharetta? Should we just wait until we have some life threatening injury? Well at that point we would be outside the realm of chiropractic care anyway as we do not deal with emergency care. Wouldn’t it be wise to seek chiropractic care before we were injured? Wouldn’t you want your spinal cord and spinal nerves working the best they could? I hope you answered yes. I certainly do. Seeking chiropractic care in Alpharetta can help with this.
You see most people have this “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mentality. I am here to tell you “IT’S BROKE!”, well maybe not broke, misaligned to be specific but perhaps I have your attention. In my practice at Holistic Health Center in Alpharetta, I treat newborns using chiropractic care as well as adults. Yes, you heard correct newborn babies can have their spines adjusted through chiropractic care at our Alpharetta practice. I don’t use the same amount of force on a newborn as I do on an adult using chiropractic care. It actually takes very little pressure to adjust the vertebrae of babies. They may squirm a little during a chiropractic adjustment but that’s about it. During labor 90-120lbs of pressure is used to remove the fetus from the womb. Trust me it’s a lot of pressure. This may be necessary yet this can cause vertebral misalignments. As you remember we talked about in the last article on chiropractic care in Alpharetta, when the vertebrae misalign they damage the spinal nerves. The spinal nerves go to all parts of your body. If the nerves are being damaged by the misaligned vertebrae and the brain uses the spinal cord and spinal nerves to communicate with the rest of the body, how well will the rest of the body be functioning? If you said not well you are correct.
What can this cause you might ask. Everything. Anything. If there is a vertebrae misaligned damaging a nerve going to a babies heart they might have an irregular heartbeat. If there is a vertebrae misaligned damaging a nerve going to their stomach they might have acid reflux and not keep their food down. If there is a vertebrae misaligned damaging a nerve going to their ears they may be prone to ear infections and on and on. Chiropractic care adjusts the vertebral misalignments correcting them, taking the pressure off the nerve, taking the damage away from occurring to the nerve and allowing the nerve a chance to heal. Why talk about adjusting babies when the soul focus of holistic chiropractic practice in Alpharetta is mostly chronic conditions that people have not found answers to in the traditional medical system? Well even though pediatric chiropractic care is not the main focus of Holistic Health Center in Alpharetta, we love treating babies and children using chiropractic care. I don’t have much to entertain them with in our Alpharetta practice, no wooden ponies to climb up and get adjusted on, but I love treating them all the same. My point of bringing up chiropractic care for babies is that’s the time it should start, yes that early.
When do you start to see a dentist? When you get your first cavity right? Not if you value your teeth. I will let you in on a little secret. Are you listening? We would actually be able to start avoiding a majority of the conditions that effect us every day of our lives if we started maintaining the health of our spines through regular chiropractic care at an early age. Crazy talk? If I didn’t see conditions resolve everyday in my practice in Alpharetta through chiropractic care I might think it was crazy as well. A principle in chiropractic care is that the power that made the body, heals the body. Also did you know that the opening at the base of your skull that the brain connects to the spinal cord at is called the foramen magnum? This is Latin for “mouth of God”. I find this very interesting. So what happens to a part of the body that is deprived proper nerve flow, proper communication? It malfunctions. This malfunctioning may lead to unnecessary tests and procedures perhaps surgeries. This malfunctioning may not be able to be diagnosed in the traditional medical field. This malfunctioning may be given a disease name for which there is no cure. A child may suffer their entire lives with this disease or condition which escapes medical explanation. A child’s entire life may revolve around the maintenance of the symptoms associated with this strange disease or condition. Also a child’s entire life may be changed in ways that no one will ever be able to explain by not having to be troubled with such strange diseases or conditions by having them receive regular chiropractic care and having their vertebral misalignments corrected so their spinal cord and spinal nerves remain healthy inside as well as having a well maintained, properly moving spinal column. The choice is always yours. Choose wisely.
